Hey beau’s ! It’s been a long week for me with my grandma passing. My family decided to get out of the house and have some fun so we went to see Black Panther. The 12 of us piled into a few cars and then lines two rows in the theater. The movie was soooooooooooooooo good, I was literally on the edge of my seat for half the movie. Can I just say I loved the representation of women’s strength and power? I also loved all the fine eye candy in the movie, heeeeeyyyyy Michael B Jordan ;). But seriously I recommend you round up your gyals or take your guy out and go see it! I was a little disappointed with some of the African accents, but impressed by the authentic Swahili. The costumes were AH-MAZING I couldn’t stop myself from cheering when I saw Jordan with his black panther suit with the leopard print mask!
Now let’s talk about what I word. My look consisted of a striped shift dress with a red rose print that I purchased at Ross Dress for Less for only $10.99. As soon as I laid eye on it I knew I had to have it. The print reminded me of Betsey Johnson and you babes know I live for Betsey. I accessorized the look with a black and gold striped clutch that was actual Betsey Johnson and so we’re my black bow sandals. I completed the look with a bare face and a bold red lippie.
Hi #BetseyBabes ? I started this waredrobe haul series to share with you some of my favorite designer accessories. You dolls are getting to peek into my accessory closet. Any body who knows me knows how much I love fashion designer Betsey Johnson. I bought my first “Betsessory” (Betsey Johnson + Accessory) as I like to call them about 8 years ago and my collection has only continued to grow over the years. My love for Betsey’s whimsical designs and kitsch silhouettes has turned me into a mega fan girl. I thought I would fainted when I met her last year. Enough chit chat let’s dive into this fun line up. Today’s haul will cover my favorite kitsch bags; Camera, Candy, Leopard Lips, and Telephone plus my favorite Betsey kicks. I can’t leave the house without some form of purse to carry my life around in. I use to be popular in school for carrying oversize designer totes. Now that I’m out of school and working I try to keep it light with a small kitsch bag that holds my essentials. If my portable charger, wallet, roller ball perfume, lipstick, keys and headphones fit we’re good to go. Kitsch bags are great conversation starters they are the epitome of the statement bag and Betsey Johnson does it oh so well. The camera Kitsch bag was a birthday gift from my mom. Great gift for a blogger or photographer.
My addiction for leopard print doesn’t quit and Betsey enables is. Betsey really knows how to attract a girl’s wild side. This vintage “Leopard Lips” Betseyville bag was a Poshmark purchase. I also got my “Call Me Maybe” telephone bag from Poshmark, I put up quite a negotiation for it. Best part is the phone really works, plug it in and talk or use it as a speaker and play some music. Your phone controls the volume !
Something special that I noticed about Betsey Johnson is that her designs almost always have a special hidden feature that is kind of like a surprise just for you. Whether it’s a silky floral printed lining in a handbag or her famous signature on the zipper pull. She likes to add little details that really make each piece that much more special.
Last but not least my pom pom kicks. These babies came out during the pom pom fad, which has been traded in for pearls this season. Zapp slip on sneakers are available in black and blue. OOTD #78: On Day 1 of the TCF Style Expo I wore a leopard print button up shirt with cold shoulder cut outs paired with a burnt orange circle skirt for the day event. I accessorized look with Betseyville by Betsey Johnson black bow sandals and glitter leopard purse shaped like lips.
I purchased this dress at the expo from LYfeStylzPlus’s boothe. The gold lace design initially caught me eye by the long train and the stretch scuba fabric sold me on it. Dress featured long sleeves, body con skirt with an floor length train attached the back, it also had flyaways peplum style right at the waist. The short length flattered my legs and the flyaways flattered my hips. I absolutely loved this dress, the long train made me feel like royalty.
OUTFIT OF THE DAY #77: Something New
My family was in town so we all got together and went to Sushi & Grill Restaurant for dinner. Since we we’re trying some new food, I was inspired to try a new look. I’ve been dying to wear this new skirt I made, so I based the look around it. I purchased this lavender color fabric in the Spring during a trip to NYC. I fell in love with the fabric’s subtle giraffe print and soft hand. Last week blogger and designer Mone convinced me to try pastel colored lipstick. I thought this look would be the perfect time to bust out my NYX lavender lippie I bought at the Make Up Show Orlando earlier this year.Keeping the train rolling with these fashion firsts, I accessorized my look with a black knit turban, pointed toe flats and Betsey Johnson Camera Kitsch Bag. Kitsch Camera bag was a gift birthday gift from my mom, it’s been one of my most steady summer accessories. The cross body strap allows hands free carrying which I love when I’m on the go. I can have my hands free to snack, take selfies, or text. I fell in love with the turban it added a cultured yet chic element to the look, this piece will definitely be a repeat offender. Tank: Ross | Skirt: Fatshion Forward (by me) | Handbag: Betsey Johnson | Shoes: Charlotte Russe | Lipstick: NYX Pin Up Pout Lippie (Wisteria – Neon Lavender)
