What I Wore To See Sweeney Todd

OOTD #82 : Sweeney Stripes

As you know I spent the past couple months costuming Sweeney Todd. Jessica (my partner in costuming) and I had a themed pattern and color palette that was apparent through all the characters looks. Red, white and black mixed with stripes. There were also red splatters every where but you can blame that on the demon barber of Fleet street. I took my outfit inspiration from our costume theme and put together a look for myself for the finale show. I wanted to see my work from the audience so I got a ticket for the finale show. After designing for the cast I wanted some Sweeney stripes of my own, so here is hat I whipped up.

Black and white striped tunic with cap sleeves, and a ruffled flounce at the hem. I designed and sewed this tunic myself. I purposely sent the stripes in different directions to putt your eyes where you want them too. I paired striped tunic with solid black stretchy leggings. I accessorized the look with red tennis bracelet, red lippie and red suede round toe ballet flats.

I absolutely love wearing my own designs, because they are one of a kind and it feels good being an original. Want a custom Fatshion Forward piece of your own ? The Golden Rules

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #81: The Golden Rules
Happy Fatshion Friday loves 🙂 With the Fall season approaching rapidly I wanted to give you babes my golden rules to transitioning your waredrobe from summer to fall.
Rule #1 : Thou Shall Layer: Tanks , Camisoles, and short sleeves shirts can be layered over a long sleeve shirt or turtle neck. Short sleeves can also be layered under cardigans, blazers or sweaters. Add leggings or tights under short skirts and dresses.
Rule #2: Thou Shall Play Up Colors : Play up the darker shades in your summer prints like I did with this look.
Rule #3: Thou Shall DIY: Get creative ! Dye your light spring and summer colored clothes a darker tint. Whites to Nude. Yellow to Mustard. Pink to Red. Purple to Eggplant.
Show me how you transition your fall waredrobe using #FatshionForward

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #77: Something New
My family was in town so we all got together and went to Sushi & Grill Restaurant for dinner.  Since we we’re trying some new food, I was inspired to try a new look. I’ve been dying to wear this new skirt I made, so I based the look around it. I purchased this lavender color fabric in the Spring during a trip to NYC. I fell in love with the fabric’s subtle giraffe print and soft hand.  Last week blogger and designer Mone convinced me to try pastel colored lipstick. I thought this look would be the perfect time to bust out  my NYX lavender lippie I bought at the Make Up Show Orlando earlier this year.Keeping the train rolling with these fashion firsts,  I accessorized my look with a black knit turban, pointed toe flats and Betsey Johnson Camera Kitsch Bag. Kitsch Camera bag was a gift  birthday gift from my mom, it’s been one of my most steady summer accessories. The cross body strap allows hands free carrying which I love when I’m on the go. I can have my hands free to snack, take selfies, or text. I fell in love with the turban it added a cultured yet chic element to the look, this piece will definitely be a repeat offender.  Tank: Ross | Skirt: Fatshion Forward (by me) | Handbag: Betsey Johnson | Shoes: Charlotte Russe | Lipstick: NYX Pin Up Pout Lippie (Wisteria – Neon Lavender)

Hello sunshine 🙂 Today I’m bringing you babes Pantone’s Spring/Summer Color Palette. This palette features the top colors in fashion for the season. Familiarize yourself with these ten shades as they infect the trends of apparel, accessories and footwear. First up, PANTONE #17-4123 Niagara: Comfortable and dependable describes denim but it also describes our first color Niagara. Niagara is a classic denim blue will be seen in shorts, jeans, and vest this summer. Niagara speaks to our desire for ease and relaxation.
Second is PANTONE #13-0755 Primrose Yellow: Enthusiasm, good cheer and sunny days in your forecast with this warm, joyous shade. Primrose Yellow sparkles with heat and vitality. This shade is perfect for skirts and swimwear cover ups. Swimsuits, bodysuits, skirts and tanks this color can be worn so many ways. Following is PANTONE #19-4045 Lapis Blue: Conveying even more energy is Lapis Blue. Strong and confident, this intense blue shade is imbued with an inner radiance. This color is the calm after the storm and looks good in the form linen pants, crisp oxford shirts and kitten heel pumps. One of my favorites from this palette is PANTONE #17-1462 Flame. A red-based orange, Flame, is gregarious and fun loving. Flame will be a popular lip color this season. Flamboyant and vivacious, this wonderfully theatrical shade adds fiery heat to the season. Next is PANTONE #13-1404 Pale Dogwood: Continuing on the path to tranquility, Pale Dogwood is a quiet and peaceful shade of pink that engenders an aura of innocence and purity. The unobtrusive Pale Dogwood is a subtle pink whose soft touch infuses a healthy glow. Trendy as canvas kicks, maxi dresses and sundresses.
Next up is PANTONE #15-0343 Greenery is a tangy yellow-green that speaks to our need to explore, experiment and reinvent our environment. Floral print, graphic palm trees, cactus and pineapples, flourishing foliage, the fertile attributes of Greenery signals one to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. PANTONE #14-4620 Island Paradise is another favorite of mine. Island Paradise is a refreshing shade of aqua blue that lives up to it’s name. This cool blue green shade is a breathe of fresh tropical air.PANTONE #17-2034 Pink Yarrow is a tropical, festive, whimsical and unignorable hue that tempts and tantalizes. Bold, attention grabbing and tempestuous, the lively Pink Yarrow is a captivating and stimulating color that lifts spirits and gets the adrenaline going. This color describes my style and speaks to my soul, plus I can’t resist the color pink. This next one is for my active babes, PANTONE #18-0107 Kale promotes the great outdoors and living a healthy lifestyle. Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect to nature, similar to the more vivacious Greenery. And, just as we see in nature, this lush and fertile natural green shade provides the perfect complementary background to the more vibrant tones in the palette. Last but not least PANTONE #14-1315 Hazelnut, a natural earthy base shade for the palette. Hazelnut is neutral, classic tone great for career-wear or resort-wear depending on where your summer will take you. Unpretentious and with an inherent warmth, Hazelnut is a transitional color that effortlessly connects the seasons.

Can’t wait to see how you babes mix and match this color palette for the season.  Remember “life’s too short to wear boring clothes.” – cushnie et ochs”

Fashion’s Favorite Jacket

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #70: The Olive Bomber
Pilot’s Uniform or fashions favorite outerwear trend? “The Olive Bomber” has caught on like wildfire over the past year. It’s a year round closet staple because of it’s minimalist charm. The versatility makes the bomber easy to wear season after season. Jacket can be paired with so many looks from a two piece set like I’m wearing to jeans and a plain tee for a more casual approach. I’ve also seen it paired with striped midi dresses or kept simple with a LBD and sneakers. Once this trend got picked up by celebrities and supermodels as their “off-duty” look that’s all it took to go viral. The Olive Bomber offers effortless street style and gives the athleisure aesthetic a luxe update. The Bomber trend has recycled for so many seasons that brands are having my for with the designs. I’ve seen bomber style jackets in faux fur, satin, jersey, over-sized, floral print, lace, sheer or accessorized with patches. That combinations are endless really with the versatility of the jacket.I accessorized look with jewelry from Betsey Johnson. Stud earring is shaped like a caption bubble and spell “xox” in the center. Fashion gold nameplate “Betsey” necklace from Betsey Johnson’s NYFW Spring ’13 Ready-To-Wear Show. Necklace was a anniversary gift from my finance, he supports my Betsy addiction lol

Betsey Johnson Nameplate Necklace from “NYFW SPRING ’13 READY-TO-WEAR” Show

Completed look with some edgy black faux leather flats from Sketchers. Flats featured a spiked adornment all the way around the mouth of the shoe like a trim. Shoes also feature camouflage printed memory foam lining which makes these the world’s most comfy flats.
