OOTD #84: Wheat x Olive

OOTD #84: Wheat x Olive
Hey girl hey ! Happy #FatshionFriday πŸ™‚ This outfit of the day is brought to you by Plus Brooklyn.
Shop entire look at 455 Graham Ave Brooklyn, NY 11211 or online
I visited this Brooklyn bound boutique this past weekend for a Photo Party. I had so much fun playing dress up and shooting with shop owner. Even the rain and some drive by fat shaming couldn’t stop us. The difference between Plus Bklyn and other  boutiques is that they’re BODY POSITIVE.
Their racks are filled with apparel that is stylish, on trend and most importantly true to size. Like this “Olive Two Piece Set” by Rebdolls, I’m wearing a 2x. If you love minimalist fashion? Try this boxy cotton t-shirt and matching high waist legging for all day comfort and effortless style. Pair with a hooded long line coat to complete your fall forward look. This faux suede coat by Junarose is nice and warm thanks to the borg lining, it’s also cut larger to layer comfortably over all your cold weather looks. Accessorize with your favorite kicks or boots.
T-Shirt & Pant: Rebdolls | Jacket: Junarose | Shoes: Rainbow | Lipstick: Kat Von D

What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

OOTD #83: What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

Walking up the street to the event, hearing hip hop jams blared through the air. As we took the elevator up, our excitement also rose. One wall had a complete mural which I of course used as my backdrop πŸ™‚ I had so much fun watching the runway show.  Courtney had so many beautiful gowns as well as a sequins duster, a fringe skirt, a faux fur coat and chic two piece sets.  All the things girls love πŸ™‚

My fellow designer and friend Mone accompanied me to the event, wearing a dope jacket of her own creation. She also caught me taking selfies LOL. I wore a Fatshion Forward original; a two piece velvet set. Crop top and A-Line skirt paired with a knit cardigan with faux shirt cuffs and collar.

Jonquel’s AH-MAZING Art lined the walls everywhere. Bloggers and models dancing, mingling and shopping. There was even a sketch of each model in their runway look (See slides below). @QueenOfTheTurnTables was on the 1’s and 2’s, that’s right they even had a plus size DJ. The event was so much fun reconnecting with my blogger boo’s and meeting some new ones. I hope it becomes an annual thing.

What I Wore To See Sweeney Todd

OOTD #82 : Sweeney Stripes

As you know I spent the past couple months costuming Sweeney Todd. Jessica (my partner in costuming) and I had a themed pattern and color palette that was apparent through all the characters looks. Red, white and black mixed with stripes. There were also red splatters every where but you can blame that on the demon barber of Fleet street. I took my outfit inspiration from our costume theme and put together a look for myself for the finale show. I wanted to see my work from the audience so I got a ticket for the finale show. After designing for the cast I wanted some Sweeney stripes of my own, so here is hat I whipped up.

Black and white striped tunic with cap sleeves, and a ruffled flounce at the hem. I designed and sewed this tunic myself. I purposely sent the stripes in different directions to putt your eyes where you want them too. I paired striped tunic with solid black stretchy leggings. I accessorized the look with red tennis bracelet, red lippie and red suede round toe ballet flats.

I absolutely love wearing my own designs, because they are one of a kind and it feels good being an original. Want a custom Fatshion Forward piece of your own ? Contact me at FatshiionForward@gmail.com with “Custom Design” in the subject line and a brief description of what you had in mind. I look forward to hearing from you πŸ™‚

The Golden Rules

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #81: The Golden Rules
Happy Fatshion Friday loves πŸ™‚ With the Fall season approaching rapidly I wanted to give you babes my golden rules to transitioning your waredrobe from summer to fall.
Rule #1 : Thou Shall Layer: Tanks , Camisoles, and short sleeves shirts can be layered over a long sleeve shirt or turtle neck. Short sleeves can also be layered under cardigans, blazers or sweaters. Add leggings or tights under short skirts and dresses.
Rule #2: Thou Shall Play Up Colors : Play up the darker shades in your summer prints like I did with this look.
Rule #3: Thou Shall DIY: Get creative ! Dye your light spring and summer colored clothes a darker tint. Whites to Nude. Yellow to Mustard. Pink to Red. Purple to Eggplant.
Show me how you transition your fall waredrobe using #FatshionForward
