What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

OOTD #83: What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

Walking up the street to the event, hearing hip hop jams blared through the air. As we took the elevator up, our excitement also rose. One wall had a complete mural which I of course used as my backdrop 🙂 I had so much fun watching the runway show.  Courtney had so many beautiful gowns as well as a sequins duster, a fringe skirt, a faux fur coat and chic two piece sets.  All the things girls love 🙂

My fellow designer and friend Mone accompanied me to the event, wearing a dope jacket of her own creation. She also caught me taking selfies LOL. I wore a Fatshion Forward original; a two piece velvet set. Crop top and A-Line skirt paired with a knit cardigan with faux shirt cuffs and collar.

Jonquel’s AH-MAZING Art lined the walls everywhere. Bloggers and models dancing, mingling and shopping. There was even a sketch of each model in their runway look (See slides below). @QueenOfTheTurnTables was on the 1’s and 2’s, that’s right they even had a plus size DJ. The event was so much fun reconnecting with my blogger boo’s and meeting some new ones. I hope it becomes an annual thing.

FFF Week Bae Walks: MVP Collections

The venue for the first Plus Size Men’s Fashion show was loft in uptown Manhattan. Every seat was  filled as the music blared. The host announced the first brand, MVP Collection. The plus size male models descended from up stairs as the worked the runway around and through the crowd the cheering ladies. The clothes were high quality and trendy for men of various ages and lifestyles. The styling was on point I loved the accessorizing of hats and the layered looks.
A grey button up shirt, black tee, dark denim, canvas sneakers accessorized with a small brim hat. I can see a lot of guy wearing this look layering and un-layering the shirts as the season change. Color story can take you from summer straight into winter.Velour suits are making a come back in both men’s and women’s wear. Pair with a graphic tee, classic white kicks or Timb’s and a snap back and go. Velour suits look effortlessly cool.
This look plays on the classic plain colored tee, which is a waredrobe staple for a lot of men. Starts with a red t-shirt, paired with white distressed jeans accessorized with a white fedora and white kicks.
Velour suits look effortlessly cool even when pair with the most basic waredrobe staple for men the plain white too. Again another look that can carry you straight through to winter. Purchased sets can be interchanged and they look good with high tops, low tops and boots.
Sleeveless plaid button shirt paired with stitch detailed straight leg acid washed blue jeans and white shell top Addidas. The Lumberjack look gets an update.Grey short sleeve button shirt layered over plain white t-shirt paired with stitch detailed straight leg blue jeans. Accessorize with grey small brim hat and black kick.If your all about comfort and a chill aesthetic purchase this velour suit in red, grey and black. Multiple your waredrobe quickly by interchange suit with graphic or plain tee’s. Black athleisure hoodie with short sleeve layered under a sleeveless plaid button up shirt. Complete the look with your favorite jeans and sneakers.

Camouflage is a print we seen worn all year long. Back just in time for summer in the style of cargo shorts with a matching hoodie. Pair the set with a graphic t-shirt and your cool kicks.

Not a fan of shorts?  Army fatigue print also available in pants. Pair with plain tee, denim vest and high top sneakers or combat boots. As the weather changed you can switch out the vest in this look for the hoodie in the last look.

Denim jacket layered over plain grey tee paired with jeans and wheat Timberland boots. Camouflage sweatshirt worn tied around the waist adds attitude and pulls the whole look together. Shop MVP Collections at www.mvpcollections.com. Happy shopping 🙂

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #75: Crimes of Beauty
Happy Fatshion Friday babes. I bought this chic t-shirt at the Make Up Show Orlando earlier this year. I love to sport this tee on my casual days especially pay day also know as dress down friday. Crimes of Beauty had a booth with a variety of graphic t-shirts, hoodies and other beauty accessories. I fell in love with this Tee the second I saw it and it was fate because it was the last one in my size. Tees, tanks and hoodies are available in sizes small up to 3x are available but they do run 1 size smaller (3x -18/20).

Crimes of Beauty is a witty, cutting-edge apparel and accessory line where beauty pros write the rules. Featuring clever and creative sayings teasing the “parodies” of the beauty industry, this fashion line speaks to the urban girl who effortlessly pulls together a stylish outfit with a flash of flair and grit. The Tee I purchased was limited edition but check put some of the dope this they have in stock now. Here are some of my favorites:
