OOTD #82 : Sweeney Stripes
As you know I spent the past couple months costuming Sweeney Todd. Jessica (my partner in costuming) and I had a themed pattern and color palette that was apparent through all the characters looks. Red, white and black mixed with stripes. There were also red splatters every where but you can blame that on the demon barber of Fleet street. I took my outfit inspiration from our costume theme and put together a look for myself for the finale show. I wanted to see my work from the audience so I got a ticket for the finale show. After designing for the cast I wanted some Sweeney stripes of my own, so here is hat I whipped up.
Black and white striped tunic with cap sleeves, and a ruffled flounce at the hem. I designed and sewed this tunic myself. I purposely sent the stripes in different directions to putt your eyes where you want them too. I paired striped tunic with solid black stretchy leggings. I accessorized the look with red tennis bracelet, red lippie and red suede round toe ballet flats.
I absolutely love wearing my own designs, because they are one of a kind and it feels good being an original. Want a custom Fatshion Forward piece of your own ? OUTFIT OF THE DAY #81: The Golden Rules
Happy Fatshion Friday loves 🙂 With the Fall season approaching rapidly I wanted to give you babes my golden rules to transitioning your waredrobe from summer to fall.
Rule #1 : Thou Shall Layer: Tanks , Camisoles, and short sleeves shirts can be layered over a long sleeve shirt or turtle neck. Short sleeves can also be layered under cardigans, blazers or sweaters. Add leggings or tights under short skirts and dresses.
Rule #2: Thou Shall Play Up Colors : Play up the darker shades in your summer prints like I did with this look.
Rule #3: Thou Shall DIY: Get creative ! Dye your light spring and summer colored clothes a darker tint. Whites to Nude. Yellow to Mustard. Pink to Red. Purple to Eggplant.

Hi #BetseyBabes 🙂 I started this waredrobe haul series to share with you some of my favorite designer accessories. You dolls are getting the first look into my closet. Any body who knows me knows how much I love fashion designer Betsey Johnson. I bought my first “Betsessory” (Betsey Johnson + Accessory) as I like to call them about 7 years ago and my collection has only continued to grow over the years. My love for Betsey’s whimsical designs have turned me into a mega fan girl. I almost fainted when I met her last year. Enough chit chat let’s dive into this fun line up.
Today’s haul will cover my essentials for the day; sunglasses with case, a necklace, a pair of earrings, nail polish and a wallet. Faux leather wallet features quilted hearts, gold zipper closing and a fringe tassel charm. Wallet is stylish and functional.
I can’t go a day without my sunnies. I love them for driving, hitting the beach, or just strolling around the Upper East Side. Every girl needs a cat eye pair of sunglasses. I recieved mine as a Christmas gift but I have seen Betsey Johnson sunglasses sold everywhere that carries her brand.
My sun-glasses fit snugly in this stylish metallic leopard print case. Betsey really knows how to attract a girl’s wild side. I purchased this sun-glass case at Beall’s Outlet but I have also seen them at Burlington Coat Factory for $5. Case can fit sunglasses whether big or small, the hard clam shell makes case very protective.
I love to match my nails to my accessories. This metallic Betsey nail color is a great match. It adds glitter and shine to your nails and also gives it that chrome look that is trendy right now.
You babes know how I feel about my prints. I purchased these daring dangle earrings at Macy’s for about $35. They are lightweight so they will not weigh you down or stretch your piercing like similar earrings styles. So much detail in a little earring. A single diamond under the clasp, followed by a little black bow and a heart filled with leopard. Something special that I noticed about Betsey Johnson is that her designs almost always have a special hidden feature that is kind of like a surprise just for you. Whether it’s a silky printed lining in a handbag or her famous signature she likes to add little details that really make each piece special. These earrings have on of those hidden gems in the form of engraved hearts around the pendants of the earring.
Last but least from this week’s line up is this necklace that was a Christmas gift from my best friend a few years ago. A gold chain with a green leopard print bow pendant, pendant is surrounded by two other circles of leopard encrusted with jewels. This necklace is a chic yet subtle way to wear the color of the year.

Outfit of the Day #62: Chico’s x Fatshion Forward
Hey Girl Hey. I have been busy as ever helping my sister plan her wedding that took place this past weekend. But here I am, back again with another look and this time I am doing a nod to the 90’s with a modern twist. What screams 90’s more than a head to toe velvet look. I desgined and made this velvet set myself. Set includes a crop top and midi skirt.
Sleeveless crop top featured a scoop neckline, soft hand and elastic in the hem. Paired with coordinating midi skirt and pom pom slip on sneakers. I reviewed these super comfy Betsey Johnson sneakers yesterday check out post here if you missed it. accessorized look with a family heirloom: a matching earrings and necklace set. I have a lot of stylish women in my family and I like to honor them as much as I can through my work.
I I layered velvet skirt set with a jacket by Chico’s. Jacket featured stripes of satin sewn close together giving it a negative space illusion when stripes spread apart. Jacket also features zipper front closure, pockets and bomber like collar. Velvet set and jacket paired well together because of the jackets print and the solid black of the set. I think the entire look has a sporty and chic feel with a 90’s edge due to the simplicity of the set and the sneakers.
