Fat is my favorite F word

Fat is my favorite F word ! But it hasn’t always been, the word Fat use to have power over me. But I’ve reclaimed it and infused it into my brand. I am choosing to empower myself and others through fashion and body positivity because neither of those things are inclusive to one type of person.  I’ll be showing off this fat summer body all season long with confidence. Happiness isn’t specific to one race, body type, gender or age. I was stunned to hear that “91% of women are unhappy with their body. 80% of women say images of women in media make them feel insecure.” We have to stop comparing ourselves to hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of surgeries, treatments and makeup. You don’t have to drink Flat tummy tea, bust your ass in the gym or go under the knife. “It’s okay to be fat and stay fat” Fat is not a bad word and having body fat does not equal poor health. Everybody is different, just love and embrace yours. Let your light shine from the inside out. Don’t hide inside this summer go out and tan those rolls 😉 Check out this full line up for more inspiration.

What I Wore….To See Black Panther

OOTD #90: My $11 Dress

Hey beau’s ! It’s been a long week for me with my grandma passing. My family decided to get out of the house and have some fun so we went to see Black Panther. The 12 of us piled into a few cars and then lines two rows in the theater. The movie was soooooooooooooooo good, I was literally on the edge of my seat for half the movie. Can I just say I loved the representation of women’s strength and power? I also loved all the fine eye candy in the movie, heeeeeyyyyy Michael B Jordan ;).  But seriously I recommend you round up your gyals or take your guy out and go see it! I was a little disappointed with some of the African accents, but impressed by the authentic Swahili. The costumes were AH-MAZING I couldn’t stop myself from cheering when I saw Jordan with his black panther suit with the leopard print mask!

Now let’s talk about what I word. My look consisted of a striped shift dress with a red rose print that I purchased at Ross Dress for Less for only $10.99. As soon as I laid eye on it I knew I had to have it. The print reminded me of Betsey Johnson and you babes know I live for Betsey. I accessorized the look with a black and gold striped clutch that was actual Betsey Johnson and so we’re my black bow sandals. I completed the look with a bare face and a bold red lippie.

How I Care For My Bras

First things first I want to introduce to you my favorite bra. The butterfly bra by Ashley Stewart comes in 5 styles and a variety of prints and colors. The plunge, full coverage, soft cup, convertible and they also have a bralette style. It’s the perfect time to invest in some new under garment, Ashley Stewart is having a red hot sale for Valentine’s Day. Sizes D through H are available.

The double-back wrap panels conform to your curves for superior support, while eliminating bulges for a smooth, polished look. Both the Plunge and Full Coverage style bra also features wide straps for maximum comfort, 8 hook-and-eye closures, push-up gel pads, and underwire contour cups.

As versatile as it is sexy, the Convertible Butterfly Bra can be worn six different ways! The bra also features detachable straps, for your favorite strapless looks! The Soft Cup style has no molding or padded, it was designed with everyday comfort in mind. A gold butterfly charm is the feminine finishing touch. The Butterfly Bra is exclusive to Ashley Stewart and its flawless fit makes it their most popular bra.

Now for Care, I turn my cups inside out, close all the hooks, fold it in half and place it inside a  mesh laundry bag. I place my machine on gentle/delicate cycle and set water to warm. Closing the hooks before washing prevents snagging and deforming of hooks and eyes. Placing the bra in a mesh bag stops the straps for entangling around each other and loosing shape (this also causes bones to poke through). Also ensure that your strap buckle will keep it’s setting. Caring for your bra’s properly help maintain the life of your bra.

What I Wore To See Sweeney Todd

OOTD #82 : Sweeney Stripes

As you know I spent the past couple months costuming Sweeney Todd. Jessica (my partner in costuming) and I had a themed pattern and color palette that was apparent through all the characters looks. Red, white and black mixed with stripes. There were also red splatters every where but you can blame that on the demon barber of Fleet street. I took my outfit inspiration from our costume theme and put together a look for myself for the finale show. I wanted to see my work from the audience so I got a ticket for the finale show. After designing for the cast I wanted some Sweeney stripes of my own, so here is hat I whipped up.

Black and white striped tunic with cap sleeves, and a ruffled flounce at the hem. I designed and sewed this tunic myself. I purposely sent the stripes in different directions to putt your eyes where you want them too. I paired striped tunic with solid black stretchy leggings. I accessorized the look with red tennis bracelet, red lippie and red suede round toe ballet flats.

I absolutely love wearing my own designs, because they are one of a kind and it feels good being an original. Want a custom Fatshion Forward piece of your own ?
