OUTFIT OF THE DAY #75: Crimes of Beauty
Happy Fatshion Friday babes. I bought this chic t-shirt at the Make Up Show Orlando earlier this year. I love to sport this tee on my casual days especially pay day also know as dress down friday. Crimes of Beauty had a booth with a variety of graphic t-shirts, hoodies and other beauty accessories. I fell in love with this Tee the second I saw it and it was fate because it was the last one in my size. Tees, tanks and hoodies are available in sizes small up to 3x are available but they do run 1 size smaller (3x -18/20).
Crimes of Beauty is a witty, cutting-edge apparel and accessory line where beauty pros write the rules. Featuring clever and creative sayings teasing the “parodies” of the beauty industry, this fashion line speaks to the urban girl who effortlessly pulls together a stylish outfit with a flash of flair and grit. The Tee I purchased was limited edition but check put some of the dope this they have in stock now. Here are some of my favorites:
This past weekend I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending “The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo“. On day one Marie had a two panels scheduled: “The Business of Plus Size Fashion” and “Styling 101: So You Want to Be a Plus Size Stylist?” Both panels were very insightful. I learned some new tips from the panelist and they also affirmed somethings that I was already doing. The first panel beginning at 10 A.M featured Susan Moses, Gwen Devoe, Chenise Lewis, Sarah Rae Vargas, Monif C and Nikki Free.
They spilled the tea about being in business in the plus size fashion industry, the good the bad and the ugly. They also cleared up some industry myths and gossip while clarifying the process in their rightful sectors. It was so interesting to listen to all their different points of view and experiences in the women’s various careers. Susan Moses is a celebrity stylist, blogger, guest editor, spokesperson and designer, her book is on my summer reading list. Gwen Devoe is a former plus model turned event coordinator, she is also the creator of “Full Figure Fashion Week”. Chenise Lewis is a hostess and runs her own podcast show. Sarah Rae Vargas is a vlogger whose topic list is endless. Monif Clarke is a fashion designer and the owner of the Monif C clothing brand. Last but not least the fabulous Nikki Free a fashion publicist and blogger.
“Styling 101: So You Want to Be a Plus Size Stylist?” was the second panel discussion that took place from 2PM – 4 PM on Friday. The panel was full of different types of stylist: Personal, Editorial, Studio, Celebrity and Wardrobe Stylist. Shun Melson, Reah Norman, Meaghan O’Connor, Patrick and Nadia of Dia & Co were all on the panel. The group talked about industry experience and also shared some tips and tricks of the trade. They were honest about their careers as stylists and what it took them to get there. I think Marie did a great job putting together the panel discussions they were very informative and I learned quite a bit from all the speakers collectively.
Now let’s talk about this look, I honestly didn’t know what the heck to wear to the Expo. I just knew I didn’t want to look like anyone else or risk wearing the same thing as someone else. I started off this look with a plain white fit and flare dress. Dress featured a wide scoop neckline and a flirty knee length hem. I made a skirt of a sheer burgundy fabric that featured a raised black suede leopard print texture. Skirt definitely was the star of the look, I just wore it over the dress to give an overlay effect. I accessorized outfit with a black faux leather handbag and oxfords.
Like it or love it? Comment thoughts below, I love hearing from you all 🙂

OUTFIT OF THE DAY #37: Love It Or Leave It All Black Look
I know what you’re thinking wearing all black in the Georgia Heat is a crazy idea !! But it actually panned out to be a very cool and comfortable look. It felt effortless and chic the way the cropped peplum paired with the faux leather. I started off with this black peplum top from Boo Hoo that has a diamond cutout along center front and along both of the straps. I added these black faux leather pants with bows at the back calf from Torrid. I paired the look with my favorite Bohemian inspired summer sandals from Charlotte Russe. You ladies know how much I love color I had to add some color to this look somehow.
So I accessorized the look with this silver jewelry set. I have noticed the Elephant stampede in fashion, I’ve been seeing it a lot in accessories and graphic tops. I think it’s adorable so when I was gifted this set I couldn’t wait to incorporate it into a look. The set came with a necklace, bracelet and a pair of earrings that all had a turquoise stone encased in silver. I completed the look with the ultra matte lip color by Colour Pop.
