What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

OOTD #83: What I Wore To The Curvy AF Event

Walking up the street to the event, hearing hip hop jams blared through the air. As we took the elevator up, our excitement also rose. One wall had a complete mural which I of course used as my backdrop 🙂 I had so much fun watching the runway show.  Courtney had so many beautiful gowns as well as a sequins duster, a fringe skirt, a faux fur coat and chic two piece sets.  All the things girls love 🙂

My fellow designer and friend Mone accompanied me to the event, wearing a dope jacket of her own creation. She also caught me taking selfies LOL. I wore a Fatshion Forward original; a two piece velvet set. Crop top and A-Line skirt paired with a knit cardigan with faux shirt cuffs and collar.

Jonquel’s AH-MAZING Art lined the walls everywhere. Bloggers and models dancing, mingling and shopping. There was even a sketch of each model in their runway look (See slides below). @QueenOfTheTurnTables was on the 1’s and 2’s, that’s right they even had a plus size DJ. The event was so much fun reconnecting with my blogger boo’s and meeting some new ones. I hope it becomes an annual thing.

Seven Artist Who Create Plus Size Art

Hey beauties 🙂 Today’s line up consist of seven artist who inspire the world with their plus size art. Whether it’s fashion art or body positivity art these artist are so talented and their work is truly inspiring. Art is a great way to express yourself, show off your creativity and inspire others. If you are a beginner sketch artist or designer and are in need of a sketchbook or croquis I recommend Cashmerette. I purchased one of her standard 8.5 x 11″ sketch books and it’s such a time saver when I’m doing a rough sketch of  a design. “Each sketchbook features 100 plus size croquis (outlines of a curvy body) which are lifelike and light in colour, which means you can sketch garments on top of them, giving you a realistic and professional fashion drawing.” You can also order a custom sketchbook which is based off images of you to accurately capture the curves of your body. Here are seven plus size artist that you should follow on instagram and definitely check out their work. Remember it’s important to support your local artist and small businesses.
