OOTD #78: On Day 1 of the TCF Style Expo I wore a leopard print button up shirt with cold shoulder cut outs paired with a burnt orange circle skirt for the day event. I accessorized look with Betseyville by Betsey Johnson black bow sandals and glitter leopard purse shaped like lips.
I purchased this dress at the expo from LYfeStylzPlus’s boothe. The gold lace design initially caught me eye by the long train and the stretch scuba fabric sold me on it. Dress featured long sleeves, body con skirt with an floor length train attached the back, it also had flyaways peplum style right at the waist. The short length flattered my legs and the flyaways flattered my hips. I absolutely loved this dress, the long train made me feel like royalty.
This past weekend I drove six hours to Atlanta, Georgia to attend “The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo“. On day two Marie had a two panels scheduled: “This Body: A Conversation About Self-Acceptance, Body Image And Size Diversity” and “Model 101: So You Want to Be a Model?” She also had tons of vendors set up for shopping and two fashion shows: “Ashley Stewart Fashion Show” and “TCF Style Fashion Show” on the agenda. I attended the body positivity panel as the subject is important to me. I very much enjoyed the panel the women spoke their truth and made some very valid points about the industry, brands and womanhood in general.
“This Body” panel beginning at 3 P.M featured Erica Watson, Alysse Dalessandro, Maui Bigelow, Shaina Glover, Jes Baker, & Lakrisha Joseph – Baker. Comedian Erica Watson had the room in uproars with her jokes and side comments. Alysse, Maui, Shaina, and Jes are my bopo warrior babes, I have been following their journeys for a while. It was inspirational hearing them share bits of their stories and life experiences. Lakrisha’s message was so relatable and touching I was almost in tears.
Now let’s talk about my look, I wanted to try the matchy-matchy trend. How to rock this trend? All you have to do is wear one color in one shade from head to toe. I saw the trend in the August 15th issue of People Magazine. The collage of celebrities wearing their clothes, shoes and accessories in one hue inspired me. Pink is one of my favorite colors so it was easy to slay the trend.
I started my look with this pink caged crop top I purchased from society plus. They have this sassy little staple top in seven colors. Then I paired it with my favorite pink tutu from Charlotte Russe. I tied the look together with this fabulous pink fur vest from ReDress. I purchased this faux fur last year during the spring season so this piece is no longer available.
My glamorous jeweled necklace by Betsey Johnson pulled the look all together. Necklace features a cluster of gems in different shades of pink with a few pearls in the mix. I paired the outfit with nude faux leather pointed toe flats from Charlotte Russe. Nude is such a soft and versatile color it matched well with the blush pink. I sealed the deal with this natural pink lipstick by Estee Lauder the color is called Grapefruit.
